Ask in your own words.
Describe what you wanted to do and what happened instead. ChatGPT can ask questions and handle the technical steps in a supported session.
These are example starting requests, not recorded repairs or guaranteed fixes. Change the words to fit your task.
Sound
“My video is playing, but I cannot hear it through my speakers. Help me find out why. Explain what you see before making a change.”
Printing
“I’m trying to print this document, but nothing comes out. Help me check what is happening. Ask me one question at a time.”
Browser
“This page is not working the way I expected. Help me understand what you can see, and explain any change before you make it.”
Working computer
“My computer is working today. Help me understand this app without changing anything. Use simple words.”
Review, then test.
Ask what a proposed change does and whether it can be put back. Stop when you need. After an approved change, try the original task and tell ChatGPT what actually happened.
For human help, ask: “Summarize what I wanted to do, what we tried and what happened. Leave out passwords and private documents.” Bring that summary to a technician you trust.
